Senior Occupational Therapist (Grade 3)

Clinical Leadership | Complex Practice | Future-Focused Care

Eastern Melbourne

Help Shape the Future of Occupational Therapy

Most occupational therapy roles ask you to manage a caseload.

This role asks you to help shape a practice, influence clinicians, and strengthen the future of the profession.

At Kadia Occupational Therapy, we believe therapy should do more than manage problems.
It should help people build a new tomorrow.

Kadia is a boutique occupational therapy practice based in Eastern Melbourne, working with individuals navigating disability, complex health conditions, and major life transitions. Our therapists work in the places that matter most — homes, schools, workplaces, and communities — because meaningful occupations happen in real life.

But Kadia is more than a service.

It is a deliberately designed practice built around a simple belief:

When clinicians are supported to think deeply, collaborate openly, and lead confidently, the outcomes for clients — and the profession — change.

Our approach rejects conveyor-belt therapy and prioritises strategic thinking, ethical decision-making, and long-term impact. Therapy is not measured in sessions delivered but in the lives people are able to build.

The Role

We are seeking a Grade 3 Occupational Therapist who wants to step into a role that blends clinical expertise, leadership, and influence.

This is not simply a senior clinician position.

You will work closely with the Clinical Director and leadership team to help shape how Kadia continues to grow — strengthening clinical practice, mentoring emerging therapists, and expanding the impact of occupational therapy across Eastern Melbourne.

You will help guide a team that believes therapy should be thoughtful, strategic, and deeply human.

This role will suit a therapist who:

  • Thinks beyond the individual session
  • Enjoys mentoring and growing other clinicians
  • Wants to influence systems and service delivery
  • Is curious about the business and strategy behind allied health
  • Wants their work to contribute to something bigger than themselves

Your Impact

In this role, you will contribute across three key areas.

Clinical Leadership

You will bring senior clinical expertise to complex cases and support the development of high-quality occupational therapy practice within the team.

You will help therapists strengthen their clinical reasoning, navigate complexity, and build confidence in their professional judgement.

Mentoring and Team Development

At Kadia, supervision is not simply compliance — it is a pathway to developing confident, reflective clinicians.

You will support mentoring, reflective practice discussions, and collaborative case consultation that strengthens the capability of the entire team.

Strategic Growth

Working alongside the Clinical Director, you will contribute to the evolution of Kadia’s services and influence how occupational therapy is delivered in our region.

This includes:

  • Stakeholder engagement with referrers and community partners
  • Supporting communication and professional visibility
  • Contributing to service innovation and clinical frameworks
  • Helping grow Kadia’s presence and impact in the allied health sector

The Therapist We’re Looking For

You are an experienced occupational therapist who is ready to step beyond the traditional role of clinician.

You bring both clinical depth and a desire to help shape the profession.

You likely have:

  • 7+ years experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • AHPRA registration
  • Experience supporting people with disability, neurological conditions, complex health needs, or environmental barriers
  • Strong clinical reasoning and reflective practice
  • Experience in mentoring or leadership
  • Confidence communicating with families, services, and community stakeholders
  • Curiosity about how strong clinical services are built and sustained

Most importantly, you believe that occupational therapy can have a profound impact when it is practiced with integrity, collaboration, and vision.

Why Join Kadia

This role offers something rarely available in allied health:

The opportunity to grow both clinically and strategically.

You will be supported to:

  • Develop advanced clinical capability
  • Build and expand experience in leadership and service development
  • Contribute to mentoring the next generation of therapists
  • Engage in complex, meaningful work
  • Be part of a team that values curiosity, integrity, and collaboration

At Kadia, culture is not accidental — it is intentionally built.

Because when the team thrives, clients do too.

Who This Role Is Not For

This role will not suit everyone.

It may not be the right fit if you are looking for:

A purely session-based therapy role
While clinical work is central, this position extends beyond delivering therapy sessions. It involves mentoring clinicians, contributing to service development, and supporting the strategic growth of the practice.

A high-volume caseload model
Kadia prioritises thoughtful, relationship-based therapy over throughput. If your preference is a model focused on maximising billable sessions, our approach will likely feel different.

A role without complexity
Our work often involves navigating complex clinical, environmental, and systemic challenges. Therapists here are expected to think strategically, collaborate across services, and hold nuanced clinical conversations.

A workplace where leadership sits only at the top
At Kadia, leadership is distributed. Senior clinicians are expected to contribute to culture, guide others, and actively participate in shaping the direction of the practice.

A role where clinical practice and business are completely separate
This position offers insight into the broader systems that support allied health services. If you are curious about how clinical services grow, sustain quality, and influence the profession, you will thrive here.
